From a village to The Village

Two weeks ago I resigned from the agency I’ve been working at for 2.5 years. When I tell people this they, naturally, ask “where are you going?” to which I say “I don’t know.”
 It’s exciting and it’s terrifying.
I almost always have a plan and am always moving from one thing to the next so to take this leap is an intense decision for me but it feels more right than wrong so i’m going for it.

Obama saved the auto industry, repealed don’t ask don’t tell, passed a major healthcare reform bill, stood up for women’s health and their right to equal pay for equal work, supports marriage equality and got me the most likes/reblogs i’ve ever had. Imagine what he could accomplish in 4 more years!

THE ABSENT   An installation of 857 empty school desks, representing the number of U.S. students who drop out of school every hour, every school day, displayed at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.  (Photo: Alex Wong / Getty Images via The Telegraph)

Less than a month ago my partner and i had about an hour to come up with something to launch The College Board’s Don’t Forget Ed campaign after our other launch ideas had been scrapped. We sat down and came up with this, which was originally going to be 6000 desks to represent the kids who drop out every day. Luckily we cut it down to every hour of every day, especially since we ended up personally moving each and every desk into place. I’ve never been so happy to be sweating my butt off because the result was worth every drop.

I’d almost forgotten the (unnecessary) intensity Cage brought to the remake of Wicker Man. Almost.
